product: M4 Flat-Panel Monitor Arm
manufacturer: Humanscale
web:
humanscale.com

Known for its ergonomic office products, Humanscale has come out with an adjustable arm that allows users to easily customize the height, angle, depth, and viewing position of their flat-panel monitor. Minimizing risk of repetitive-strain injury, the arm can be adjusted 7 inches up or down from a seated position. The die-cast aluminum arm has a small footprint and stays clear of other desk items. It can be mounted by clamp and grommet to the desktop or by fixed or adjustable wall mounts. The design is significant for its minimal bounce; a counterbalance adjustment allows monitors weighing between 5 pounds and 20 pounds to remain still.

Complementary fabric-covered screens can slide between tables, while central screens can hold office accessories. Cabinet backs and screens come in light orange, light green, yellow, cold gray, or white.

Created by a division of Herman Miller, Babble is a "sound-management tool" that provides voice confidentiality and security of information in open-plan work environments. Workers cannot be heard beyond their cubicles because the phonemes of their voice are rearranged. A desktop device, Babble connects to the telephone and sends the user's voice out in multiplied and "babbled" form through speakers in the work area. It achieves confidentiality without distracting the user of the device, while those nearby hear what sounds like an indiscernible, low-volume group conversation.
